This week in California ag regulation
Two items this week: DPR’s draft 1,3-D annual report, released alongside disclosure of a significant air monitoring data recall, and OEHHA’s plan to list atrazine under Proposition 65.
DPR opens comment period on Draft 2025 1,3-D Annual Report
DPR released its draft 2025 1,3-Dichloropropene report and opened a 45-day public comment period through November 30, 2026. CDFA’s lab notified DPR on September 30, 2026 that it was recalling about nine months of 1,3-D data due to degradation of a laboratory reference standard, including 2025 air samples analyzed from October 24 through December 31, 2025, which DPR excluded from this draft and is addressing with modeling tools instead.
Key date: November 30, 2026: Public comment period on the Draft 2025 1,3-D Annual Report closes.
OEHHA plans to list atrazine under Proposition 65
OEHHA intends to list atrazine as known to the state to cause cancer under Proposition 65, using the Labor Code listing mechanism, after IARC classified atrazine in Group 2A (“probably carcinogenic to humans”). Written comments are due by Monday, November 9, 2026, and should be limited to whether IARC has sufficiently identified atrazine as a human or animal carcinogen.
Key date: November 9, 2026: Written comments on listing atrazine under Proposition 65 are due to OEHHA.
